May street elementary school
Throughout my lifetime I have witnessed my father’s tireless dedication to the students and teachers of Hood River County School District. I would like to match this with my passion for photography. May Street Elementary School has endured many changes throughout the years. Most notably, there will be an entire new building which will open in the 2019-20 school year.
For my Extended Applications project, I chose to document the old building. The majority of the photos presented are from the main building which was built in 1957. Several of the pictures depicting older architecture or structural depictions are from the two-story gymnasium. This portion of the building was built in 1916 as an addition to the original May Street School.
